Samih is a seasoned strategic and results-oriented global senior executive with extensive experience in Business Transformation, global business management, financial management and building high performance organizations.
Samih is currently a Senior Advisor to multiple companies focusing on business transformation improving business performance and serves on advisory and public boards. Until mid-2017, Samih was the President of Nokia’s Mobile Networks business group, with EUR 14Bn of revenues, 52,000 employees and operating in more than 100 countries. In his previous positions as Chief Financial and Operating Officer (2012-2015) and Chief Operating Officer (2012-2013) at Nokia Networks, he led the global financial strategy, global business operations, and the company’s overall transformation.
During his tenure at Nokia, Samih enabled the company to establish a leading market position in Mobile Networks and Services and he improved the financial performance of Nokia Networks that culminated more than EUR 10Bn of value creation to shareholders. In addition, he was a driving force behind the combination of Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia and its successful integration.
Between 1998 and 2010, Samih held several Senior Executives and Global Business Management roles in Transformation and Technology management at Nortel. From 1990 to 1998, Samih served in several leadership roles in Network Development at Bell Canada
Samih has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Ottawa in Canada and a Master of Electrical Engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal in Canada.
